Multi-tier vertical vegetable planting bags are a flagship climate adaptation technology pioneered by Kolping Kenya. Designed for peri-urban homesteads and arid rural areas, each heavy-duty UV-treated bag holds up to 100 vegetable plants (kale, spinach, indigenous vegetables, tomatoes, and herbs) using minimal land footprint and requiring minimal irrigation water.
Over 10,000 planting bags have been distributed to vulnerable women and elderly households across Kenya, eliminating household vegetable purchase expenses.
